Sunday November 13th, 3 pm BRENTWOOD-WESTWOOD SYMPHONY at University Synagogue, 11960 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 90049. The amazing David Shostak of the L.A. Chamber Orchestra performed the orchestral version and West Coast premiere of my California Concertino for Flute and Chamber Orchestra, with the Diego Miralles conducting.

Also performed were Dvorak's 9th Symphony and Copland's “Billy the Kid.”

Thanks to conductor Alvin Mills and Diego for putting this together...it's wonderful that this venerable Westside institution is playing new American music.

Catherine and Katherine, along with stellar vocalist Teri Koide and percussionist Bernie Dresel will be featured in an unusual song cycle "Bzzz" with music by yours truly, as well as words and music by Andi Davis and Wendy All. Also, a premiere by Occidental's own Andre Meyer for flute and oboe, and
more unusual items  with a guest appearance by L.A.'s Grande Bambino of the Bamboo Flute (and 639 other flutes) Steve Kujala.

In July, Bevan served as director of the new Jazz Program at Quartz Mountain Music Festival in Oklahoma, performing, teaching, and having his works performed.
