Sunday November 13th, 3 pm BRENTWOOD-WESTWOOD SYMPHONY at University Synagogue, 11960 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 90049. The amazing David Shostak of the L.A. Chamber Orchestra performed the orchestral version and West Coast premiere of my California Concertino for Flute and Chamber Orchestra, with the Diego Miralles conducting.
Also performed were Dvorak's 9th Symphony and Copland's “Billy the Kid.”
Thanks to conductor Alvin Mills and Diego for putting this together...it's wonderful that this venerable Westside institution is playing new American music.
Chamber Music by Bevan Manson was performed on August 17th at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church in Glendale.
The World Premiere of Bevan’s
“Sonata for Violin and Piano”
was presented by the Malibu Friends of Music at the Montgomery Arts House
for Music and Architecture
on May 20th and 22nd, 2011.
Maria Newman and Bevan Manson performed the Sonata and Bevan was also featured in several jazz improvisations.
The first performance of Bevan’s “Race for the Apple Pie” was given at the Kairos Musical Soires in Malibu on April 14th and 15th by Maria Newman, violinist, and Scott Hosfeld, violist.
Bevan is Guest Composer-in-Residence for the Kairos Musical Soirees’ 2011-2012 season.
Bevan Manson's California Concertino
for Flute and Chamber Orchestra was premiered on Sunday, March 13th, 2011
